ServerUp - For Web and Network Administrators $4.99
ServerUp is a utility that allows you to check the status of your network and web servers. Be the first to know your server is down. ServerUp is configurable to check the status as often as you would like. You have the ability to enter the host name and port numbers you would like to check. If the server found to be down, ServerUp will display a red X, otherwise it will display a green check mark. ServerUp is very customizable, you can set notifications such as alerts (sounds / visual notifications). You also have the ability to enable or disable the host. This is a great option for servers that you are not connected to all the time. Ideal for office servers that are not public.
Version 1.0.7 of ServerUp brought you the ability to enable and disable specific hosts just by long pressing on Host. This feature is ideal for users that work on LAN via WIFI and manage local computers. When the users leaves that LAN, they will no longer be connected to the servers that are only local. So the user can then disable them in the Modify Host screen.
Version 1.0.8 of ServerUp brought you the Logging. By logging you could see exactly why you failed to connect to your host.
Version 1.0.9 of ServerUp brought the ability to add multiple ports to a single host. You do this by simply using a comma to separate them. ie. Port: 80,21,110,25,23 This is equivalent to adding 5 different hosts in previous versions of ServerUp.

FAQS
- What is the timout setting for? The timeout setting gives ServerUp an amount of time to connect to the server. If it does not connect in that allotted time, then the server is considered to be down. One thing to consider when setting the timeout is the network you are on. If you are on a 3G network, you can set the timeout lower than on an EDGE network. 20 seconds seems to be a good timeout to start with.
- How do I use the SMS functionality? In order to use the SMS functionality you must first turn on Notifications on the Settings screen. After you have saved the setting for notifications you can then modify or create a host and add a 10 digit cell phone number of email address.
- What do I do if I receive false positives? First, notify me, then secondly try to reboot your phone. Most of the time this is an issue after you install ServerUp. This is rare anymore since I have changed the method of checking your service.
- How do I get ServerUp to run in the background? After you have configured ServerUp with the Hosts you would like to monitor, all you have to do is hit the Home button on your phone. By hitting the home button ServerUp will just be placed in the background. You will still receive notifications if you have notifications set.
- Where do I purchase ServerUp? ServerUp can be found on the Android Market. Keep an eye out for specials.
